Carbon fiber recovery value chain in Emilia Romagna

The project presented by Curti under the tender “Regional agreements for the establishment and development of businesses – call 2019” has the main objective of designing, building and experimenting an innovative process in continuous horizontal development of a thermochemical type, to carry out the recovery of carbon fibres from processing waste and end-of-life products.

Upon completion of the project, it will be possible to use recovered carbon fibres, like virgin ones, for the manufacture of new composites reinforced with recycled short CF in collaboration with various companies in the supply chain. The project benefits from public subsidies from the Emilia Romagna Region, with an overall deliberated contribution of € 523,995.63.

For CURTI, this plant and this technology are part of a broader development plan, which includes investments to be made by 2022.
